NewsNews

  • Bibliography data from the Open Exoplanet Catalogue is now included on every planet page.
  • Try adding &machinereadable=1 to a URL on this webpage. It will give you the same data that you see in a HTML table but in a machine readable format so that it can easily imported by Excel, Numbers or any scripting language.
  • Follow exoplanet annoucements on http://twitter.com/exoplanetapp!
  • New visualisations added, showing the location of the habitable zone in every planetary system!

  • The host star images are now zoomable thanks to skymap.org.
  • Number of exoplanets in this catalogue: 767.
  • I added AJAX support for correlation diagrams and cataloque lists. This obviously requires JavaScript. However, I carefully designed all features of the web page to work without JavaScript. By the way. It even looks nice in lynx: lynx exoplanet.hanno-rein.de.
  • Orbits are now plotted as a SVG image. Not all browsers can display these images correctly (especially Microsoft's Internet Explorer). I therefore rasterise images for those unlucky ones who use this browser. You can still download the svg image by clicking on the link below the images. You can also install a third party plug-in such as Adobe SVG Viewer to view SVG.
